EU Settlement Scheme: If you are an EU citizen or a family member, who has been residing in the UK before December 2020, the EU Settlement Scheme offers a crucial opportunity to secure your future in the United Kingdom. At RVS Solicitors, we specialise in guiding individuals through the EU Settlement Scheme application process, ensuring a smooth and successful outcome.
On the surface, the EU Settlement scheme is an easy and straightforward application to make. However, a number of situations can make it complex. These can include insufficient evidence of your time spent in the UK for a relevant period of time, a criminal record in the UK, the end of a relationship for the non-EU family members whose leave is reliant on their EU national spouse and so on.
Expert Advice and personalised Guidance for Your Unique Situation
At RVS Solicitors, we recognise that each case is unique. Our immigration specialists take the time to understand your specific circumstances, immigration history, and aspirations for the future. With this personalised approach, we provide expert advice tailored to your needs, ensuring that you have the best possible chance of success in your EU Settlement Scheme or EEA Family Application.
With our extensive experience and expertise in immigration law, we have a track record of achieving successful outcomes for our clients in most complex cases.
We offer services to EU/EEA nationals and their family members including:
Settled status application: If you are an EU national or family member with a pre-settled status, you will become eligible for settled status once you have resided in the UK for 5 continuous years. Settled status will allow you to remain in the UK without any time limit or restrictions attached to your stay. You will retain your settled status even if you are absent from the UK for a prolonged period of time, provided it is no more than 5 years. While the application is usually easy to make, you might face unique challenges if you have insufficient evidence of your residence or other circumstances that make your matter complex. You can rely on our UK Immigration lawyers in London to provide you with the guidance you need.
EEA Family Application: As a non-EEA family member of an eligible EEA citizen, you may have the opportunity to join your EEA family member in the UK through the EEA Family Application route. This is possible, if you are in relationship with an EU national who has settled or pre-settled status and your relationship with them existed before the UK left the EU, namely before 31 December 2020. If your relationship with the EU national started after this date, or if your EU national partner is in the UK on another type of visa, you cannot use this route, but other routes may be available to you. At RVS Solicitors, we understand the importance of family unity and are experienced in handling EEA Family Applications. Our dedicated team will provide you with expert advice and assistance, helping you navigate the requirements and complexities of the process.
Retaining your status after divorce: If you are a non-EU national family member with a pre-settled status in the UK, your right to remain in the UK will be based on your relationship with your EU national partner. We often hear from clients who are facing difficulties in their relationship or are in process of getting a divorce and worried about their status in the UK. The breakdown of a relationship is already very hard and we understand that it can be further compounded by concern about your status in the UK. Our UK immigration lawyers have years of experience in EU related matters and will be able to assist you in such difficult times. Where needed, they will work with our family law team, to ensure that your family matters are also taken care of properly.
