Job Title: Family Solicitor
Reports To: Head of Family Law Department
Salary: Competitive (based on experience)
Hours: Full-time (4-day working week)

Job Purpose

The Family Solicitor will manage a broad caseload, offering high-quality legal advice and representation on family law matters such as divorce, financial settlements, child arrangements, and domestic abuse. Key Areas of Responsibility

• Manage a caseload covering divorce, separation, financial settlements, child custody disputes, and domestic violence cases.
• Provide expert, tailored legal advice to clients with compassion and professionalism.
• Draft court applications, witness statements, and legal documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance with current legal standards.
• Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, and court proceedings.
• Stay up-to-date with family law legislation and ensure compliance across cases.
• Maintain strong communication with clients, barristers, court officials, and other parties to ensure timely case progression.
• Supervise junior staff members – trainees, paralegals, legal assitants, if in a senior position
• Participate in business development and client relationship management to contribute to the firm’s continued growth.
• Collaborate with the Head of Family Law to deliver high-quality services and innovative solutions to clients.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Client service: Demonstrate strong understanding of company’s client service standards, consistently delivering it. Consistently achieving positive feedback from clients regarding case outcomes and service quality.
• Case Management: Efficient management and timely progression of a personal caseload. Ensure that company policy in respect of Case management is being followed at all times.
• Accuracy: Providing precise legal advice and documentation aligned with current legal frameworks.
• Billing Targets: Meeting or exceeding financial targets within a supportive working structure. 4- 5 hours billable work per day is expected.
• Professional Development: Active participation in training and development, contributing to personal and firm growth.

Required Skills, Knowledge & Experience

• Qualified solicitor in England & Wales with a valid practising certificate, if applying as solicior.
• Strong technical expertise in divorce, financial settlements, and child arrangements.
• Ability to handle a diverse caseload with minimal supervision while providing top-tier client care.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an empathetic approach to sensitive cases.
• Experience in court advocacy, mediation, and negotiations.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities.
• A team-oriented mindset, with the ability to collaborate and contribute positively to a supportive work environment.

Other Information

• Working Hours: Full-time, 4-day working week (Monday to Friday with a designated extra day off, 9:00 am to 5:30 pm).
